Broadford Rovers vs Willows Fc

Broadford were playing their home tie against 2nd place in the league, Willows. The match was played in Broadford Park and the injured keeper Aaron managed to play. Broadford started out well and were getting into good positions but just couldn't get the ball into the back of the net, hitting it into the goalkeepers hands everytime. But Broadford were the first to draw blood and Paddy gave them the lead with a low hit shot that any keeper would struggle to get to. The referee was awful and giving away silly free kicks all over the pitch. The Willows were given a well placed free kick outside the box and Keeper Aaron |Hunt pulled off a suburb safe to keep Broadford the lead. Another poor decision from the ref left the Broadford defence scrambled and a last minute annoucement from the ref that it was indirect left Aaron Hunt with no chance as a rolled of pass was hit with an out curling shot which went top left. It was half time and both teams were drawing but broadford deserved to be ahead by alot more. It took Broadford a while to get their next goal, a out sending header from a corner allowed Yohann to smash it in to give Broadford the lead. Another corner came and Mark Wotton made a beautiful header to make it 3-1. The game ended like this with Aaron Hunt little to do in the second half. Broadford are now 11 points clear with the willows going into 3rd and Lakelands coming into 2nd with two games in hand of Broadford. Broadford's next game won't be till January and hopefully Aaron will have recovered by then and the whole team will be ready to secure their league title.

Broadford Rovers vs Knocklyon

Broadford were away to their rivals Knocklyon who they had encountered many times in the past few years. Broadford came into this game with their keeper Aaron Hunt injured but managed to persevere and played the game. Aaron Bradshaw topped up another fine display with a brilliant brace while Mark Wotton blasted home from 25 hours with an absolute beauty of a ping. Rovers dominated from the off and the broadford keeper was largely a spectator. Paddy Maughan was extremely hardworking and ran all across the pitch but was just unable to score. Paddy is my man of the match. As Broadford head into the second half of the season they are very well paced in the league race.

Verona Fc vs Broadford Rovers

Broadford Rovers came into this game with a win streak that would make any team confident. Although they had to travel a long journey to Coolmine Park they had their game faces on. Broadford came out dominating with the usual CM Conor Saunders playing on right wing. Aaron Bradshaw was playing suberbly and was starting along Mark Wotton in Midfield. Broadford came out dominating espicially on the wings. They could not however test the keeper. Broadford keeper Aaron Hunt made a good punch from a cross to keep the clean sheet. LW Ian leavey started off the scoring and continued with his goal streak by scoring a stunning volley from the 6 yard box. Broadford got a penalty and Mark Wotton casually converted it but the keeper came close to stopping it. The Verona Keeper pulled off some stunning saves but could not stop Broadford who were just scoring for fun. Super sub Ben Davidson came on but was unable to add to their tally and Dean o Brien suffered the same drought. Aaron Hunt had to make a last minute super save. Allowing broadford 10-0. Mark Wotton with 4(two penalties) Ian leavey with 3, Conor Saunders 2, Aaron Bradshaw 1.

Highlight of the game: Broadford score a goal, the Verona team kick off. Ian Leavey intercepts, runs the pitch and scores straight away.

Broadford Rovers vs Lucan fc

Broadford came into this match against the only team that has beaten them. They were not only here to show Lucan that they were an improved side but also to show the league that they were the best team. Unfortunately Broadford were without their skipper; Mark Wotton who is away. Broadford came into this game from the start domiating mid-field and pushing up well. Paddy Maughan was opening out well and with the support of Yohann. Ian leavy put the first goal on the table again keeping with his goal a game tally. Broadford were doing well but a few slip ups in defence caused the keeper to spring into action. On two occassions a  free kick was giving on the right side of the box but Aaron Hunt keept everything out. Towards the end of the first half Lucan were starting to come into the game and with some excellent passing inside the box they equalised. Broadford dominated the second half leaving the keeper to do very little.

In the second half Broadford were unlucky but some excellent saves and an unbelievable header off the line from a Lucan defender kept the score at 1-1. Time was counting down and Broadford just couldn't score. They brought on current in form super sub Ben Davidson hoping that he would answer their prayers and he did. He delivered a beautiful ball across the box to set up Yohann who kept his cool to score the 90' minute winner. The reaction was like no other and celebration exploded throughout the pitch and sideline. The final whistle blew and broadford we ecstatic, nobody could take this away from them. They stay on top of the league with a three point league on the team below(the willows) but The willows also have a game in head. Broadford's next game is against  Verona in Coolmine park. A game that is a must win if they are to win this league.

Broadford Rovers vs Palmerstown

Broadford Rovers come into this match with two clean sheets. Kill Lane is a tough place to play and Broadford came to the match needing a win to go top of the table. Their game faces were on and they started out with a great early goal from none other than centre-back Alex kenny who smashed a header into the back of the goal in the 18th minut. Two minutes later Broadford responded with another from inform Ian leavey.Yohann was still pushing forward showing his dominance in his CF role. He played a beautiful ball into Aaron Bradshaw who smashed the ball into the top of the net nearly killing the keeper with unbeliably powerful shot. In the second half Broadford slotted another 5 minutes in with Yohann getting his first of many possible chances. Ben Davidson who lacked the Skill and power of Yohann and Aaron Bradshaw was still menacing the defence and got a well deserved goal. Broadford were losing their hold of the game and Palmerstown were coming back. Aaron hunt was unlucky to stop a well struck shot into the bottom of the net, slipping as he went to save the ball. Broadford left Mill lane with well worked 5-1 win. Top of the league and they dont look like they're letting hold of it!

Broadford Rovers vs Manortown Fc

This was a tense match as Broadford would go joint top with a win in this match. Following their 5-0 win over rivals Lakelands, Broadford were coming into this match with momentum and were also getting back their keeper Aaron Hunt who was sick in the previous week. The team won 3-0 with the keeper having little to do, but when challenged he did the right thing. The Broadford attack was like none other and dominated in ever way. The stand out performances came from captain Mark Wotton and new arrival Yohann Confavreaux. Mark Wottons penalty was completely professional and gets my goal of the week.
