Broadford went into this match as underdogs but emerged as winners with a confident 3-1 win over league leaders The Willows. The match began in Ballymun and the pitch was kept at an average quality. Broadford started by keeping possesion but lost it a few times which left keeper; Aaron Hunt to make two great saves. The first goal came from the Willlows who were given a free-kick close to the halfway line. It came over the 6 yard box and the ball was heading back by defender Ross Miller white to the keeper but hit the corner of bunker and went by the helpless keeper. Angry with the goal that he just let in Aaron Hunt got distracted but made another great save to bring him back from redemption.
Broadford got a goal back immediately with Ian leavy scoring a great goal. Broadford were looking strong dominating in mid field with Mark Wotton showing why he is captain and showing Yohan Confavreux showing how useful the new signing can be. Broadford got a freekick from just outside the box on the left side and LB Gavin Worthington stood up but sent it just over. 10 minutes later Willows got a corner which went over the bar but the home team was adement that it had gone in but the Broadford keeper convinced the ref that it had gone over. A quick break from the left wing allowed broadford to counterattack and were given a freekick from the middle of the park. CB Gavin sent a long ball in a CF Yohan got on the end and smashed it home to give Broadford the lead.
It's the second half and broadford are ahead and keeping possesion well but unable to convert their chances. The Broadford keeper who was winded early on in the match was not feeling well and unfortunately got sick on the pitch but played on. The Willows keeper who had been playing the whole match was taken off with a knee injury which only stregthened them and they came close on a number of occasions but the Broadford defence stood stong but Ross was nearly sent off for nothing but was dimissed. The ball was sent up the right from a goalkick and broadford attacked with finesse and super sub Ben Daidson slotted in just before the end.
